A match for hope will take place this Wednesday, March 25th, at La Source stadium in Orléans. This football encounter, sponsored by 1998 World Champion Lilian Thuram, is part of an initiative by the Montargis association Yamal SLA, whose co-founder is affected by Charcot’s disease.
Lilian Thuram, Emmanuel Petit, Christian Karembeu, all three 1998 World Cup champions with the French football team, as well as former USO players Thomas Renault and Cédric Cambon, other ex-pros like Sidney Govou, Frédéric Piquionne, and French international Laura Georges will be present at La Source stadium this Wednesday for the “match of hope” against Charcot’s disease, organized by the Montargis association Yamal SLA.
The association was founded by a couple, Mohamed and Elodie Naghmouchi. Mohamed is afflicted by Charcot’s disease and, although unable to move or speak, his love for football remains strong. His teammates from Amilly or Montargis will join him on the field to support his fight. Yamal SLA aims to establish a facility in the Montargis area to assist individuals with neurodegenerative diseases and their caregivers, offering a place of respite.
To support this wonderful project, tickets are being sold for 10 euros this Wednesday. The charity match will kick off at 7 pm. The off-field entertainment will be top-notch with a DJ, appearances by artists like Théo from Star Academy, and the well-known Orléans speaker Patrick Olendo, who usually works at the sports palace with the Septors.
