The TFC women’s team dominates the championship with an eight-point lead and the best attack. Despite seven consecutive victories, the players keep a cool head before facing Saint-Malo this Sunday at 2 PM, aware that nothing is guaranteed yet.

Leading with an eight-point advantage over the second-placed team, the best attack (35 goals), the best defense (11 goals), and a series of seven consecutive wins. Looking at it like this, it’s hard to see what could stop TFC from securing their spot in the Arkema Première Ligue. However, with just seven matchdays left, Antoine Gérard’s troops are keeping their focus.

“We’ve talked about it among ourselves. We know that promotion can be secured if we win our next three games. We can’t hide anymore. The goal is clear. But we definitely don’t want to be overconfident. Honestly, there’s little risk of that happening. Still, we have to stay alert and not relax in this final stretch,” explains Fiona Bogi, one of the summer signings.

For this Sunday’s match against Saint-Malo (4th, eleven points behind TFC), the Violettes approach the game with confidence. “We won 6-2 in the first leg. But for this reunion, we know we’ll be facing determined players. Plus, last time, they were reduced to ten players after a red card and we only had a one-goal advantage (1-0 at that point). After that, it became a bit easier for us. So, we expect a tough battle, as always,” adds the central defender.

“I have no regrets about joining TFC.”

One of Toulouse’s strengths lies in their cohesion, something Fiona Bogi particularly appreciates. “We have a really good team spirit, and that’s one of the reasons for our successful campaign. I have no regrets about joining TFC,” she emphasizes.

Next Saturday, the Violettes will face Stade de Reims, who beat them 3-0 in the first leg. And for the following month, they only have two matches scheduled against Thonon Evian (April 5), who won the first encounter 2-0, and away at Rodez (April 25), who defeated them 5-1 just before Christmas.
