The European evening of OL did not start well against Celta Vigo, with the expulsion of Moussa Niakhate, guilty of a stud on Javi Rueda’s ankle and rightfully sent off.

OL will have to secure their spot in the Europa League quarter-finals while being outnumbered. This scenario is certainly not ideal, but Paulo Fonseca’s team, a week after a draw at Balaídos thanks to Endrick’s goal (1-1), faced difficulties on Thursday night at the Groupama Stadium.

In the Europa League round of 16 second leg, Moussa Niakhate made a serious foul on Javi Rueda, who was already a victim of a more serious foul from Nicolas Tagliafico without any punishment for the Argentine world champion (2nd minute). Moussa Niakhate, on the other hand, received a deserved red card and, dejected, left the Groupama Stadium pitch after explaining his actions to Paulo Fonseca (19th minute). In the first leg, Celta had a player sent off in the 55th minute, and it will take a lot for OL to turn around this complicated situation.
