The general assembly of the Autun Golf Sports Association was held on Friday, March 13 at the Golf Bistro, in the presence of Mayor Vincent Chauvet and Gérard Verdier, President of the Municipal Sports Office. Arnaud Bohy, president of the AS, gave a rather optimistic report despite a slight decrease in membership and a modest deficit. The improvement in field maintenance and the arrival of the new instructor, Damien Jaillard, should motivate more people to participate in this sport, the most widely practiced individual sport in the world.
The sports association thanked Pierre Rocamora and Pascal Machin, volunteers who took care of the golf school during the absence of an instructor, as well as the numerous partners without whom the sports activities would be impossible.
The captain reported good sports results with a title as Bourgogne-Franche-Comté senior team match play champions. Competitions in Autun saw an increase in participants, with 1213 players competing on this beautiful technical course in 2025.
Arnaud Bohy, Norbert Dupuis, Christine and Didier Bouthiere, Eric Janot, Pierre Rocamora, and Guy Goussard will remain faithful to their positions in 2026. Evelyne Wirth, now in charge of women’s teams instead of Martine Laurent, complements this dynamic team.
Marlène and Olivier, managers of the golf bistro who are actively involved in the club’s daily life, prepared a pleasant cocktail and the general assembly ended with a very friendly gathering.
Save the date! On Sunday, March 22, Autun Golf Club is organizing a charity competition for the benefit of the Festival des lycéens-Restos du Cœur. And on Sunday, March 29, the first 18-hole competition will take place.
