The mistral was blowing at the Stade de la Roquette, and it quickly turned in favor of the Marseillais. Hadji gave the red and black team the lead in the eleventh minute, taking advantage of the Courthézon goalkeeper’s advanced positioning to lob him.
The home team quickly tried to react by creating attacking opportunities, but lacked sharpness and precision in the final 30 meters to trouble a solid Endoume defense. They did have a few one-on-one opportunities with the Phocéen goalkeeper, but he dealt with them better.
Courthézon-Jonquières 0-4 Endoume
Stade de la Roquette.
Half-time: 0-2.
Referee: Ruben Puyalt.
Goals – Endoume: Hadji (11, 68), Bosca (41), De Carmejane (48).
Warnings – Courthézon-Jonquières: El Atmani (36), Millet (61).
Endoume: Da Sylva (80).
Overall, SCJ was on the back foot and couldn’t find solutions, conceding 3 goals on consecutive counter-attacks due to a loss of possession, even though it appeared that Bosca was clearly offside (0-3, 41).
Cylien: “We stumbled”
This doesn’t take away from the overall accomplished performance of the visitors, who were focused from start to finish. “We came with intentions, and we had a strong start where we managed to score quickly before not letting up,” praised Marseille coach Anthony Bisordi. They succeeded in suffocating the Vaucluse wasp, stinging it as soon as it tried something.
The mood is obviously different for Clément Cylien, the Courthézon coach. “We had planned a system in which we wanted to play, but we stumbled, despite a good first half in terms of play.”
In terms of the standings, this result allows Endoume to consolidate third place, while Courthézon-Jonquières drops to tenth place behind Saint-Didier-Pernes. They remain in the sights of the bottom two teams, with a slim 2-point lead over the last-placed team and… 2 more matches to play.
