The law and economics of sports program in Narbonne is enriched with a new university degree from UPVD. Available from the third year of high school, this curriculum combines legal expertise with practical immersion in the sports sector. Here’s an explanation.

The University of Perpignan Via Domitia (UPVD) is launching a brand new university degree in Narbonne, the DU Sports Law and Economics. Those interested in this evolving field can now submit their application to caroline.tronyo@univ-perp.fr.

In a context where sports are becoming more professional and acquiring an undeniable social dimension, the financial and legal stakes are such that it is now essential to train lawyers with expertise in all legal areas (public and private, national and international) related to sports. Furthermore, it is important to provide athletes with basic legal knowledge to better defend their interests. This new program targets athletes, sports professionals, and students with a degree in law, economics, economic and social administration (AES), or physical and sports activities sciences (Staps).

For a comprehensive education, the courses are taught by researchers from UPVD and professionals in the sports and legal fields (specialized lawyers and jurists, legal directors of sports clubs, administrative and financial managers of sports clubs, members of sports federation disciplinary committees, etc.). The UPVD Narbonne campus offers students the opportunity to build a network of professionals, facilitating their entry into the industry. Led by the Faculty of Law and Economics (DSE) at the UPVD Narbonne campus, the program is also available online. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, April 8. Required level of education: bachelor’s degree + 3 years. Admission based on application (CV, cover letter, copies of diplomas obtained) for courses starting on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 (mandatory in-person attendance for the start in Narbonne).
