The spirit of the Games blew in Falaise (Calvados). No less than 200 students, from schools in Morteaux-Coulibœuf, Crocy, Saint-Pierre-Canivet, as well as the Falaise institutions of Bodereau and La Crosse, took part in a big sports gathering. The event stood out for its inclusivity, also welcoming Ulis classes, DAME, and students from Douits.

Three poles to discover sports differently Under the guidance of teachers and Usep, the schoolchildren navigated between three thematic spaces, as explained by Brunehilde Andrée, a teacher at Bodereau school. The Paralympic pole: installed in the gymnasium, children were sensitized to disability through wheelchair courses, para-fencing, or races with restricted legs. The athletics pole: outdoors, young athletes were able to express themselves through various running and team games. And the citizen pole: a space dedicated to reflection on the values of Olympism, the creation of a common mural, and a festive flashmob.

Meeting with champions To make an impression, the organization called upon two emblematic figures of French sport. The legendary handball player Pascal Mahé came directly to meet the schoolchildren to share his experience of the Barcelona Olympics. On the other hand, the judoka Luka Mkheidze, silver medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympics, exchanged with the young people via video conference.

The immersion did not stop there for some: the schools of Bodereau and La Crosse continued the effort the next day by completing a collective marathon, thus completing the mythical distance of 42.195 km. (Personalize your news by adding your favorite cities and media with Mon Actu.)
