It was a joyful Saturday evening for the team after a great 2-1 victory in Muret. A legitimate joy for a team from Lot, who faced an undefeated team from Haute-Garonne in the championship since January 17th and had to cope with the absence of four players.
“The team has shown solidarity”
From the start of the game against a Muret team with possession but no clear chances, AFBB took the lead after half an hour. “We defended while advancing against a team that monopolized the ball without finding a solution,” said Patrick Gauthier. The Lot team was close to scoring a second goal just before half-time.
“The group stood strong”
At the start of the second half, Muret showed more intensity but the team stood strong. A penalty for AFBB converted by Fabio Castelli at the hour mark sealed the victory. Despite some late pressure, AFBB held on for the win, moving up to 8th place in the Regional 1 B pool with 27 points in 20 games.
“Now we need to keep going and aim for the top tier of the standings,” concluded Patrick Gauthier.
