On Wednesday, PSG defeated Liverpool in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals with a score of 2-0. The performance shocked Europe.

Paris Saint-Germain continues to impress Europe. Facing Liverpool in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals (2-0), the team gave their opponents a true football lesson. This performance left a mark on people’s minds worldwide.

Even though qualification for the semi-finals is not yet secured and the idea of a back-to-back victory is still far off, some are already placing PSG in high regard in football history. French journalist Sébastien Tarrago believes this PSG under Luis Enrique’s management is approaching the level of Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona.

“I am very impressed with the kind of football Luis Enrique wants to play. I listen to him and watch the Ligue 1 matches, and I have always been very impressed because I get deeply bored when the football he preaches in press conferences is played. However, ultimately, I think he is leading us astray because as soon as the Champions League arrives, as soon as things get serious, Paris Saint-Germain becomes a force to be reckoned with. I watched Guardiola’s Barcelona in 2009, 2010, and 2011 very closely, and they (PSG) are not far off. They are almost there. If they were to beat Bayern Munich, I would rank them at that level,” said the journalist.

Despite their victory in the first leg against Liverpool, PSG aims to stay focused until the end. At Anfield, the team’s goal is to secure a win and confirm their spot in the competition’s semifinals for the third consecutive year.

If they qualify for the semi-finals, Parisians could face Bayern Munich or Real Madrid. The answer will come in a few days.
