Lafrançaise. Football: Sporting regains colors

The Sporting is doing better! The results obtained by the first team in the last four matches give a real springtime feel to the club. The hard-fought victory on Saturday against Caussade offers hope for a strong end to the season. The players under “Momo” Ouzinab and Kamel Téibi will also benefit from a favorable schedule with six home games against Gouges-Boutal.

On Saturday night, the victory was secured against a young and solid team from the city of Chapeau, only conceding in stoppage time. Majoud scored a brace before Caussade equalized, and then in the final seconds, Walid Chaoui secured the winning goal. The Sporting also owes this success to their excellent goalkeeper Gauthier Dupont, who made two decisive saves in the last five minutes, winning his one-on-one battles with the opposing attackers. As the old saying goes, a good goalkeeper can single-handedly earn between three and six points for their team. Mission accomplished, thank you Gauthier!

The upcoming matches look important with six home games scheduled: on April 12th, Corbarieu; on April 19th, Montauban JE; on May 3rd, Saint-Nauphary; on May 17th, Meauzac; on May 24th, Caussade; and on May 31st, Malause. Also, note the semi-final of the Tarn-et-Garonne cup which will take place on Saturday, May 9th at 8:45 pm at Montbeton stadium against Montpezat/Puylaroque.

The juniors from Terrasses du Tarn are in good form. Last Saturday afternoon, the Gouges-Boutal stadium also hosted the Terrasses du Tarn League juniors, coached by Sébastien Hébrard. The local team, who had a good draw (1-1), deserved to win against a very strong team from Lot, the current league leaders. Terrasses du Tarn currently holds the second position in this highly competitive league. Congratulations to this club from Lafrançaise, which is contributing to raising the level of local football.
