The eleventh edition of Rive2Geek opened its doors this Saturday in a dynamic and friendly atmosphere, confirming the enthusiasm generated last year with more than 1,600 visitors.
Families, enthusiasts, and the curious gathered to share a moment dedicated to digital culture and gaming in all its forms.
The e-sports tournaments quickly attracted crowds, with a remarkable return to the classics. With controllers in hand, participants battled it out on Tekken 3, Mario Kart 64, or Super Smash Bros Melee, in an atmosphere blending competition and good spirits. A few meters away, the racing simulator provided thrilling sensations for speed enthusiasts.
For all generations, the event also stood out for its diversity. Between the arcade games in the retro gaming area, the lively Just Dance sessions, and the stage animations, all age groups found their enjoyment.
“This is an event that works very well, and we would like to make it shine on a much larger scale. We are considering mixing it with the Ripa Manga Show. We will find a suitable venue, private partners, and turn it into a major event that will highlight our beautiful city,” said Séverine Reynaud, mayor. The event continues on Sunday.
Sunday, April 5, from 10 am to 6 pm, at Jean-Dasté Hall. Admission: 2 euros (valid for both days). Free for children under 10, who must be accompanied by an adult. Website: rive2geek.rivedegier.fr.
