LE SCAN SPORT – The leaders of Nice have incorrectly transcribed Sofiane Diop’s salary in his contract. As a result, the striker receives in net what he should have received in gross.

This is not an April Fool’s joke and the leaders of Nice must not like this bad joke, especially since they are the ones behind it. As every season, the sports daily L’Équipe released on Thursday their investigation on the salaries received by Ligue 1 players. And at Nice, it is the attacking midfielder Sofiane Diop who is the highest paid.

This is a much higher amount than that of his closest teammate, Mohammed-Ali Cho, who receives “only” 220,000 euros per month. A reward for the attacking midfielder? Not at all.

As a result, Nice finds itself in a difficult financial situation. After disengagement from INEOS, the club is still looking for a buyer and, above all, to reduce its wage bill. Thus, Sofiane Diop, like several other players, is expected to be pushed towards an exit during the next transfer window. There is no doubt that his next club will carefully review his contract before signing…
