LYON TRANSFERS URUGUAYAN STRIKER MARTIN SATRIANO TO GETAFE

Signed by Lyon during the winter transfer window, Uruguayan striker Martin Satriano has been permanently transferred to the Spanish club Getafe.

Martin Satriano’s stint at Olympique Lyonnais was short-lived. He arrived on the last day of the summer transfer window from Lens to replace Georges Mikautadze in OL’s attack, only to be sent to Getafe during the winter transfer window. This Monday, the club led by Michele Kang announced that the 25-year-old player had been definitively transferred to the Liga club. “The deal is worth €6 million, with bonuses that could reach €200,000,” Lyon stated, praising Satriano’s commitment during his time at the club and wishing him the best for his future career in Spain.

Three goals with Lyon

Martin Satriano’s time at Lyon did not leave a lasting impression on the fans. He played eleven matches in Ligue 1, six in the Europa League, and two in the Coupe de France, scoring only three goals (one against Salzburg, two against Nantes) and providing one assist (against Toulouse). On January 16, Lyon exercised the purchase option in his contract. He arrived in Rhône on a one-million-euro loan deal with a mandatory purchase option of €5 million (with bonuses) at the end of the season and a 10% profit on a future resale.

Three goals with Getafe

Subsequently, Lyon loaned him to Getafe with a purchase option of €6.5 million, and the Spanish league seems to better suit the former Inter, Brest, and Lens player, who has already scored three goals in ten La Liga matches, including one against Real Madrid. He will therefore finish the season with the Madrid suburb club, currently in eighth place in the league, three points away from a European qualification. Satriano has committed to Getafe until June 2030. This transfer allows Lyon to recoup some money, which is beneficial in these financially turbulent times.
