Recently, AS Monaco has clearly been on the rise. After a rather shameful start to the season, the Monégasques are gaining momentum. After coming very close to a qualification against PSG in the Champions League playoffs, the Principality club had gone five matches without a defeat before facing Angers at home this Saturday. Still relying on their backbone, Sébastien Pocognoli expected to continue their streak against Angers on Saturday. In the first half, Monaco dominated the game. Without being truly dazzling, the club from the Rock had control of possession.

However, despite two clear opportunities (29th, 39th), Monaco failed to find the breakthrough. The game changed after the break. Following a studs-up challenge on Lamine Camara, Yassine Belkhdim was rightfully sent off (53rd). From then on, ASM found spaces and Folarin Balogun, opportunistic on a Teze cross, opened the scoring (1-0, 57th) before Adingra doubled the lead with a beautiful curling shot (2-0, 61st). Monaco then managed their lead and temporarily returned to within three points of Marseille. On the other hand, Angers remains in 7th place.
