Four years ago today, Dave was in fear for his life. On January 25, 2022, the singer of “Mon cœur est malade” suffered a bad fall at his home in Villa Montmorency in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Injured and taken to the hospital, Patrick Loiseau’s long-time partner had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and was in a coma for four days. Upon his return home, Wouter Otto Levenbach, his real name, experienced challenging days. Loss of balance, memory problems, complete loss of taste and smell…this domestic accident left him with deep lasting effects to this day.

Speaking on France Bleu, Daniel Auteuil, a long-time friend of Dave, spoke about the accident that the artist had faced. “He’s doing well. He suffered, but he will get better and I’m very happy about that,” said the former husband of Emmanuelle Béart, providing reassurance.

Dave opens up about the “fraternal bonds” that connect him to Daniel Auteuil, whom he met in the 70s.

Between Daniel Auteuil and Dave, there is a beautiful story of friendship that has endured over time. In Gaëlle Placek’s book “Des amis et des hommes,” it is revealed that the two artists became friends in the early 70s. “I met Daniel in 1971. We weren’t famous. It was during the musical comedy Godspell,” recalled the singer, describing an immediate mutual friendship. “For a year and a half, we shared billboards and dressing rooms. We immediately hit it off,” he shared.

Even though the years have passed and each has gone their separate ways, their bonds have never weakened. “When I see him after a long absence and we warmly greet each other, I feel good in his arms. Our bonds are fraternal. They fill an emotional void, as he didn’t have a brother and mine are far away,” he concluded.

“Such a liar!”: Dave sets the record straight about his friend, Daniel Auteuil

In an interview with Europe 1, Daniel Auteuil had talked about his friendship with Dave, mentioning a memorable conversation that marked the beginning of their friendship. However, Dave strongly denied his friend’s version on the TV show “C à vous.” “What a liar! It’s the opposite!” he exclaimed loud and clear to Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine. He went on to say, “I earned a lot of money before Daniel, obviously, because I was a singing star and he wasn’t an actor yet. But he surpassed me eventually…Daniel, if you want to borrow money from me, anytime!” he added humorously.
