Building on the success of its festival, the Quattrocento association is launching in Toulon the MEDSÉRIES Club, a new monthly and free event.
Following a successful first edition last November, the MEDSÉRIES festival, dedicated to Mediterranean serial creations, is expanding its influence on the cultural scene in Toulon. The Var association Quattrocento, organizer of the event, announced the launch of the MEDSÉRIES Club, a new monthly format starting on April 2nd. This initiative, done in partnership with the Chalucet Media Library of Toulon and the ARTS association (Regional Association of Technicians from the Southeast), aims to engage the audience and nurture the passion for series throughout the year.
A monthly meeting for series enthusiasts
Presented as a true “series club”, the MEDSÉRIES Club will offer a friendly and free immersion into the world of local and international series. Every month, the audience will be able to attend screenings, discover previews, and participate in meetings and discussions with industry professionals. The goal is to create a regular and inclusive highlight, in line with the spirit of the festival.
The first dates for this new cycle have already been set: the meetings will take place on Thursdays April 2nd, May 7th, June 18th, and September 17th, 2026 at the Chalucet Media Library. The detailed program of the launch event on April 2nd will be revealed in the coming days. The association also confirmed that the MEDSÉRIES festival will make its grand return for a new edition starting in early October 2026.
Concurrently, a call for projects for authors
In addition to this new public gathering, the Quattrocento association continues to support creation by launching the third edition of its residency on cinematographic intentions. This call for projects is open to authors and directors from the PACA region and from Occitanie whose film projects are mainly set in Var. Applications are open until April 12, 2026.
This residency aims to support five winners (four for a short film and one for a first feature film) in developing their artistic vision. The guidance will be provided by the director Lidia Terki from August 1st to 5th, 2026 in Carqueiranne, with oral project presentations in August and a final session at the University of Toulon in September or October.
Conditions and terms of the writing residency
To be eligible, candidates must be of legal age and have a previous experience in filmmaking, whether with a self-produced film that has been distributed or, for students, a short film of a few minutes made with simple means like a mobile phone. The submitted project must be an original fiction screenplay written in French. Only one project per candidate is allowed.
The selection of the five winners will be carried out by a committee. The Quattrocento association will cover the accommodation of the residents from August 1st to 5th in Carqueiranne, but the travel and meal expenses will be the responsibility of the participants, except for a package provided for the final session in Toulon.
Practical information and contacts
The MEDSÉRIES Club is free and open to the public, subject to availability, at the Chalucet Media Library in Toulon.
For the writing residency, the registration fee is 20 euros (10 euros for students) and the submission deadline is April 12, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
