Jean Sagols, director of popular TV series on TF1 in the 1980s and 1990s, has passed away at the age of 87. Known for series such as “Terre Indigo,” “Les Cœurs brûlés,” and “Le Vent des moissons,” Sagols died from a cerebral hemorrhage. He was living a quiet retirement in Banyuls-sur-Mer, his hometown. Before becoming a director, Sagols started his career as an actor, starring alongside Fernandel in “Heureux qui comme Ulysse.” His directing debut came in 1988 with “Le Vent des moissons,” followed by more successful series like “Orages d’été” and “Les Cœurs brûlés” in 1992 which attracted nearly 10 million viewers each week. Sagols faced challenges while filming “Terre indigo” in 1996, including extreme weather conditions during the six-month shoot in Cuba.
