To kick off the festivities, a meal featuring a paella as the main course will be served. Following that, a concert titled “Cantos de España” awaits the participants.
A lyrical work called “La Verbena de la Paloma” by Tomás Bretón, emblematic of Spanish zarzuela (musical theater), will be performed as the centerpiece. The piece depicts popular Madrid in the late 19th century during the feast of the Dove’s Virgin, creating a vivid and picturesque scene with love songs, churros, and the voice of a street singer.
The performers for the evening will include the Quatuor de Cadars quartet with Sonia Alejos Molina, former artist of the Capitole Chorus, taking the stage under artistic direction. They will be joined by Cendrine Laranèye, a coloratura soprano with a virtuoso voice, and Nadzeya Lumeau, a mezzo-soprano and fashion creator. Garance Labbe, a pianist trained at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, will be in charge of musical direction, accompanied by Babèye Bèrenguer providing narration with poetic and literary texts.
Adding to the spectacle will be the Quatre en Chœur string quartet, adding a touch of music and literature to the event. This female quartet consists of a first violin, second violin, viola, and cello, hailing from the Olympe Symphony Orchestra in Tarn-et-Garonne.
