The title of this work, “There Is Another Way,” suggests a different path. The music of Andy Emler tells stories.
Most of the compositions are suites that pass through different climates, opening chapters with moving ostinatos, introducing new characters, themes, and refrains.
The music here takes time to be, breathe, and choose different paths. Each musician’s power asserts itself at every moment.
Some short pieces, like “There Is Our Way,” are like perfumes or colors. It’s up to the listener to continue as they wish, letting them resonate and extend the time before the next title.
With “There Is Our Way,” Andy Emler sheds new light on his music, always staying on course.
