Several wedding professionals participated in the wedding fair organized in Pont-Saint-Esprit on Saturday, March 21 by two photographers from Gard Rhodanian. The event provided an opportunity to discuss the latest trends for a successful wedding.
For the 4th edition of their wedding fair, held each year in a different location, this time on Saturday, March 21, at the Ventajol estate in Pont-Saint-Esprit, Marinne Granger and Magali Lepert, both photographers in Gard Rhodanian, chose a “glamour-chic” theme with a black and white color scheme.
“This year, we are focusing on ivory and rose gold, without specific colors,” confirmed Madeleine Arnaud, the owner of “Mado Mariage” boutique in Goudargues, present at the fair. Regarding dress styles, some brides prefer mermaid or bohemian styles, while others opt for lingerie or princess dresses which are considered timeless.
The trend for men is leaning towards tailored suits, with an increasing number of young men opting for custom-made suits. Julien Marchand, the owner of “Blandin & Delloye” boutique in Avignon, highlighted the comeback of black or ivory suits for weddings, with requests for pastel colors or bordeaux in the fall. The cost for a custom-made suit ranges from 800 to 1800 euros.
As for capturing the moment, brides and grooms are now looking for spontaneity, emotion, and genuine moments in their wedding photos, moving away from traditional group photos, especially since the onset of the pandemic. Photographers are noticing an increase in weekday weddings and requests for anniversary photoshoots in wedding attire.
In terms of music at weddings, popular songs from ABBA, Dalida, and the 80s are making a comeback, according to wedding DJ Celian Brochenin, who specializes in weddings from the ceremony to the late-night party. He emphasized the demand for his services, especially in Lyon and Marseille, with reservations up to a year in advance.
