The management of Ciné Toiles in Digne-les-Bains (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) recently welcomed members of the Rotary Club, a partner in a solidarity campaign for brain disease research. Under the presidency of Laurent Salori, the Rotarians celebrated the strong turnout that came to discover the film “Compostelle” in a sneak peek, as part of the “Hope in the Head” initiative.

The president greeted the presence of young people from SOS Children’s Village, invited by the club members to the event, and thanked the members of the Lions Club and Inner Wheel for their support.

It was emphasized that “Hope in the Head” is a national campaign supported by Rotary for over 20 years. During the month of March, 450 cinemas in France are participating in this initiative. “We are fortunate to have the opportunity to discover this film with Alexandra Lamy in advance. It is an ode to hope, a strong message for youth and life in general. We are happy to be part of this journey,” he highlighted.

Before the screening, a documentary informed the audience of significant figures: in France, one million people have Alzheimer’s disease, 2.5 million suffer from depression, 600,000 have epilepsy or schizophrenia, 200,000 have Parkinson’s disease, and 1.6 million have bipolar disorders. These serious neurological or psychiatric diseases, often stigmatizing and always disabling, all have in common that they affect the same organ: the brain.

Donations collected during this campaign will help advance research and ultimately improve the health and collective well-being. A big thank you to all those who participated in this evening dedicated to solidarity and hope.
