In 2008, Welcome en Tziganie celebrated Balkan and Gypsy cultures in Gascony. This high-quality musical event is organized by the Association L’Air des Balkans. The concerts take place at the green theater of Seissan in the Gers from April 24 to 26, 2026.
The Welcome en Tziganie festival in Gers offers a range of Balkan and Gypsy music from Eastern Europe, both traditional and modern. A village with bars, restaurants, dance and singing workshops, film screenings, exhibitions, conferences, and luthiers will be set up on-site throughout the festival. The concerts start at 8:00 PM, but the music area opens at 6:30 PM. Tickets can be collected from 5:00 PM at the entrance.
A new generation of artists has embraced these cultures, transforming them into jazz, variety, urban music, and other melodic forms. Around twenty bands will perform over the three days of music from the East.
A free off-festival, open to all music enthusiasts, is offered by the Association. Other concerts will feature Kema Baliardo and Rumba Flamenca, Les Yeux Noirs and Yiddish and Gypsy music, Soviet Suprême and modern Balkan music, Aurore Voilque, Romano Drom and Roby Lakatos group, Elvis Bajramovic and his Balkan Brass Band, Balkan Tasksim and Electro Balkan, Mihai Pirvan and Friends with their Gipsy Balkan music, Goran Bregovic, the Balkan star, and DJs Haris Pilton, Max Pashm, Masha Natanson with electro Gypsy music.
