Loana, winner of the first season of Loft Story in 2001 on M6, was found dead at her home in Nice on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the age of 48. The prosecutor of Nice had announced the opening of an investigation to determine the circumstances of her death. Loana had made a sensation during Loft Story, especially with the famous pool scene with Jean-Edouard Lipa.

While Loana’s funeral took place on the side of Nice on Friday, April 10, 2026, her former Loft Story comrade had chosen not to attend. He explained his decision in a video posted on Tik Tok. “This is not my place. I saw Loana three times in 25 years. So, I don’t feel right. I think she has enough friends who are seen on all TV sets talking,” he initially declared.

Loana’s Funeral: Laurent Ruquier praised Jean-Edouard Lipa’s decision.

“Jordan De Luxe talks every day, puts all those videos. The Jeremstar… I don’t know. She has so many apparently benevolent friends that I let them go in my place,” Jean-Edouard later added with a touch of irony. These comments were acknowledged by Laurent Ruquier on his show on T18.

Frederic Beigbeder: “Everyone ultimately dreams of being famous (…) without necessarily having a particular talent.”

Renowned writer Frederic Beigbeder openly criticized the consequences of Loana’s sudden fame after winning Loft Story during his recent appearance on Figaro TV. “It’s the symbol of the exploitation of celebrity, of this dream. It’s a bit utopian to believe that we will be loved because we are known. And yes, she faced the consequences of a new addiction, which is now democratized by social networks,” he initially pointed out.

“Everyone ultimately dreams of empty notoriety. Notoriety for notoriety. Without necessarily having a particular talent. Today, there are millions of Loanas who exhibit themselves, take photos, film themselves. Hoping to achieve shreds of fame that will not make them happier at all,” he finally concluded, referring to recent situations.
