The music.box program of France 3 PACA will feature the Métisséa group from Aubagne and the rockers from Plad on April 22nd. The musical landscape of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region is gearing up to resonate with two radically different universes. On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 12:05 a.m., the program “music.box” broadcast on the france.tv platform and the regional channel ICI Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, will shine its spotlight on two local bands with unique backgrounds and sounds. Presented by the duo Nathalie Hayter and Thibaut Rysman, the bi-monthly program, faithful to its mission of discovering and promoting regional artists, offers an immersion into the worlds of the Métisséa group and the Plad band. Two artistic proposals that testify to the richness and diversity of local musical creation, from Mediterranean fusion to pure rock.
Métisséa: a musical bridge over the Mediterranean The first group on the bill, Métisséa, carries its identity in its name. Originating from Aubagne, the collective of six musicians has made it their mission to create sonic bridges between the two shores of the Mediterranean. Their music is a subtle and captivating alchemy, where traditional Arab-Andalusian melodies blend with the energy of reggae and more contemporary arrangements. Each piece is conceived as an invitation to travel, to meet, and to share. More than just a musical project, Métisséa defends a humanistic vision, using its compositions to weave connections and celebrate friendship between peoples through warm and resolutely danceable rhythms. Their performance promises to offer an immersive, generous, and colorful experience, reflecting the sea that inspires them.
Plad: the rock of the law courts of the Côte d’Azur The second part of the program will offer a striking contrast with Plad, a group with a rather atypical history. Their story began at the law faculty of Nice, where the shared passion for rock brought its members together. What was initially just “the rock group of the bar” has become a serious and accomplished musical project. The particularity of Plad lies in the profession of its members: three lawyers and a judge who regularly exchange their robes for electric guitars. Drawing inspiration from mythical figures of French rock like Trust or Téléphone, they offer a powerful and authentic sound. Their compositions, written in French as well as in English, reflect this double life, between the rigor of the judicial world and the raw freedom of music. The group, which regularly performs on the stages of the Côte d’Azur, demonstrates that the passion for rock can flourish in the most unexpected paths.
A program to discover online and on air This unprecedented meeting with the local scene will be structured in two 26-minute modules, each dedicated to one of the groups. The program “music.box” is the result of a team effort led by Nathalie Hayter in presentation and coordination, and directed by Rémy Dupont, under the supervision of Anne-Sophie Maxime, delegate for channels and content at France 3 Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. Viewers can find this program on the usual channels of ICI Provence-Alpes and ICI Côte d’Azur, as well as in streaming and replay on the digital platform france.tv, offering national visibility to these regional talents.
