On TF1, viewers will soon say goodbye to the smile of Tatiana Silva. After nearly nine years at the helm of the weekend news, the Belgian presenter is leaving the channel and the TF1 group. At 41, she will present her last news bulletin on Sunday, April 12 at 9 p.m. A departure that raises questions about the future, both for her and for TF1 news.
A final prime-time news and a review of nine years on TF1
On Sunday evening, Tatiana Silva’s final news bulletin will be broadcast in prime time, symbolizing the years she spent embodying TF1 news. She arrived in early 2017 to replace Catherine Laborde and quickly found her place in a highly exposed slot on the leading channel. TF1 also entrusted her with prime-time slots and put her on other channels within the group.
Alongside the news, Tatiana Silva took the reins of the Sunday magazine “Les Docs du week-end” on TF1 and “90′ Enquêtes” on TMC. A former model, crowned Miss Belgium in 2005, she had already worked for RTBF, M6, and TV5 Monde before joining TF1. Her appearance on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2017, where she finished third with Christophe Licata, further increased her popularity with the public. In January 2025, she became the mother of a baby boy, June, after a well-followed maternity leave.
Why Tatiana Silva is leaving TF1 news and who will replace her
This time, it’s not a temporary break like during her pregnancy: Tatiana Silva has resigned from the TF1 group. She explains that she wants to write a “new chapter in (her) life,” without revealing the details at the moment. Her departure also affects her magazines, which she will say goodbye to later in the season, once the pre-recorded episodes have been aired.
For the weekend news, Louis Bodin, who already alternated Sundays with her, will take over in the interim. Internally, the head of the news service, Évelyne Dhéliat, stated: “TF1 will soon announce the name of the person who will succeed Tatiana Silva.” The possibility of an internal recruitment within TF1 is being considered. As for “Les Docs du week-end” and “90′ Enquêtes,” the channel has a stock of already recorded episodes, giving them a few months to introduce new faces.
