Taylor Swift is one of the city’s ambassadors with her song Welcome To New York from her album 1989.
It’s the wedding of the century for the singer’s fans, and according to American media, it could very well take place this summer… in New York.
Aware of Taylor Swift’s country background, one might have imagined her wedding in a majestic countryside ranch. Not the case, as per Page Six, the singer’s wedding with her fiancé Travis Kelce will happen in the Big Apple. Although the information should be taken with a pinch of salt, this choice seems quite logical, given the singer is originally from Pennsylvania, an East Coast state bordering New York.
A source disclosed to the media that invitations for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding have already been sent out, and the big day is set for July 3rd.
This choice of a New York wedding turns out to be a surprise, as all speculations were pointing towards a union between the pop star and the Kansas City Chiefs champion in the state of Rhode Island.
Indeed, the singer has a mansion facing the ocean in Rhode Island, on a one-square-kilometer property adjacent to a luxurious hotel complex.
According to Page Six, the couple had abandoned this idea last November before fully embracing a completely different location that could accommodate more participants. And New York City was the chosen spot.
A city dear to the singer’s heart, as she has dedicated several songs to it and owns a massive apartment consisting of a duplex and a 325-square-meter loft in the upscale neighborhood of Tribeca.
By getting married in the city that never sleeps, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce would join a long list of celebrities who have tied the knot in New York, such as Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Hailey and Justin Bieber, or Mariah Carey and Tommy Mottola. While the date is now set (fingers crossed for the final date!), it is still unknown where exactly the ceremony will take place.
