At the initiative of the Grand Écran cinema, the 8th Cinematographic Encounters in Libournais will be held until Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Local associations are offering films in German, Spanish, English, and Italian. Students and teachers from Max-Linder (cinema option), Jean-Monnet, and Henri-Brulle are actively participating in this event, as well as cinema enthusiasts in Libournais. “Thanks to this selection of 21 films, including 8 for school screenings, our common world is revealed beyond the diversity of cultures, languages, and eras,” emphasizes Josephine Della Calce, head of Grand Écran Libourne and key organizer of these encounters with filmmakers. Speaking with them about their films, understanding how and why they make them. Three filmmakers are coming to Libourne: Martin Jauvat for “Baise-en-ville,” Aurélien Vernhes Lermusiaux for “La Couleuvre noire,” and Meryem Benm’Barek for “Derrière les palmiers.” Until Tuesday, March 10, immerse yourself in: a selection of about twenty films, exclusive previews, exciting meetings and exchanges, a friendly and festive atmosphere, and a single price of €5 for all screenings. Whether you are a film enthusiast, cinema lover, or simply looking for a great outing, this is the perfect time to experience the big screen differently.
