The open-air cinema at La Villette is getting ready to offer a dazzling cinematic experience for its 2026 edition. From July 22 to August 16, a variety of short films, movies, and performances will be screened on the famous giant screen on the Triangle lawn. Visitors can sit comfortably in a deck chair or on a blanket, enjoying classic masterpieces of cinema for free. This long-standing tradition, celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, remains as popular as ever.
The theme for this edition focuses on nature and ecology, with a selection of films set to explore the forest as a place of contemplation and deliver ecological messages. This theme resonates with the recent expansion of the park dedicated to biodiversity and animals on 15,000 square meters, providing an ideal setting to raise awareness while enjoying captivating films.
The schedule features family-friendly screenings at 6 pm with animated films like “Les Enfants loups, Ame et Yuki” and “Arrietty, le petit monde des chapardeurs”, followed by more adult-oriented movies at 9 pm such as “Le Règne animal” and “Okja”. This diverse lineup promises an exciting program in the coming weeks, hopefully with more gender parity.
The open-air cinema at La Villette will take place from July 22 to August 16, 2026, at 211 Avenue Jean Jaurès in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, and admission is free. For more information, please visit their website.
