On Friday, April 10, 2026, at P200, L’Autre Lieu, espace René-Le-Bas in Cherbourg (Manche), there will be an evening dedicated to Celtic music and the sounds of Eastern European countries with the group Les Jupons de Mémé.
Influenced by various styles, the musicians in this group share a passion for Irish music, Celtic repertoires, and those of Eastern European countries. They come from different groups: Mes souliers sont rouges and Pied’s trad for Simon Leterrier, Jack Fergus for Yves Aquilina, and Les Babouches for Christophe Escudié.
Coming together monthly for Irish sessions, the group members have refined their style and strengthened their desire to play together. Their repertoire includes traditional pieces from various countries and original compositions, some inspired by maritime themes, sung in French or entirely instrumental.
Les Jupons de Mémé stand out with their unique style and rhythm. The group promises an animated evening where the audience can dance and tap their feet to their captivating melodies.
Concert at 8:00 p.m. Tickets at the door: 10 euros (8 euros in advance, link on the L’Autre Lieu website), 61, rue de l’Abbaye, Cherbourg-Octeville.
