For years, a heartwarming image has been circulating: three of Antoine Griezmann’s children share the same birthday. Mia, Amaro, and Alba were all born on April 8, five and three years apart, a coincidence that quickly captivated the fans of the world champion.

In 2025, the Atletico Madrid striker became a father for the fourth time, with the arrival of little Shai, who does not follow the family “tradition.” This provided the footballer with an opportunity to reflect on this incredible series and explain once and for all how three of his four children were born on the same day of the calendar.

Antoine Griezmann and his wife Erika Choperena welcomed Mia on April 8, 2016, then Amaro on April 8, 2019, and finally Alba on April 8, 2021. Three births on the same April 8, but each in a different year. This setup leads to a triple birthday celebration every year, described by the media as a grand festive moment for the Griezmann family. April 8 has become a symbolic date, almost a family marker, that supporters remember as much as some of his goals.

Another amusing nod was at the unveiling of his wax statue at the Grevin Museum, where Antoine Griezmann discovered that the sculptor, Stephane Barret, behind his double, is also born on April 8. Another coincidence surrounding this particularly special day.

Facing such a series, many have imagined induced deliveries to align the births with his sports schedule or to group the birthdays. The striker has responded to this persistent rumor multiple times. When questioned about this succession of dates, he expressed his own surprise and assured that he does not control this calendar randomness.

In the same interview, he explained in a very down-to-earth way that there is no magical potion to explain such a thing, except that when you are relaxed on vacation, without pressure or matches or training, things happen naturally. He also emphasized that it was not sought or desired but has become a significant day forever for the whole family, especially for siblings.

In June 2025, the birth of Shai, the couple’s fourth child, disrupted the pattern. The little girl was born on June 15, 2025, becoming the first not to be born on April 8. Her name, of Hebrew origin, means “gift,” while the names of her siblings reflect love and light: Mia means “loved,” Amaro comes from the verb “to love,” and Alba means “dawn” or “white.”

Already in 2023, the footballer described the delicate balance between career and family life, enjoying the opportunity to spend more time with his children. He defined himself as a very involved father, striving to be exemplary and strict while giving them all the love they deserve. With a unique triple birthday in the world and the arrival of Shai, this “gift” completing the siblings, April 8 remains a distinct date for a family that clearly values symbols and grand gatherings around children.
