The association Le Moment musical de Haguenau aims to showcase music in all its forms year after year. In collaboration with the municipal school of music and dance of Haguenau (EMMDH), directed by Olivier Saenger, and with the support of the City of Haguenau, the association has prepared the new program for the Moment musical festival, which will take place on April 11 and 12.

For its 26th edition, the association has decided to honor itinerant music, the kind that travels through Europe, crosses continents, draws from different influences, and merges them in a choral spirit. Seven concerts will be held in four locations: the municipal theater, the chapel of the Annonciades, the Douane hall, and the Millennium hall. The audience will have the pleasure of discovering Argentine composers, Yiddish songs, blending Brazilian music with jazz, mixing aesthetics and instrumental choices with saxophone, percussion, and even the unleashed accordion of gypsy jazz.

Saturday, April 11

  • 2:30 PM at the Haguenau theater: a poetic and musical journey with the students from the introduction to music classes of the EMMDH by Nathalie Fornecker and Marie-Françoise Teyssedou.
  • 4 PM in the chapel of the Annonciades: Celiano duo with Oksana Krupenya on piano and Agnès Lindecker on cello, playing classical and modern music, covers of songs or movie music.
  • 5:30 PM in the Douane hall: the Northern Alsace Sax ADN saxophone ensemble (Haguenau) and the saxophone ensemble from the music school of Bischheim under the direction of Jean Noël Auer and Nicolas Allard.
  • 8 PM at the Millennium hall: Vento, a collective of artists united by their passion for Brazilian music. With a first part: restitution of the workshop “Brazilian Music” by the students of the EMMDH under the direction of Davide Petrillo and Juan Camilo Roldan.

Sunday, April 12

  • 11 AM at the chapel of the Annonciades: Klezmhear group playing Klezmer and Yiddish music.
  • 4 PM in the Douane hall: the piece “Misatango” by Palméri performed by the accordion academy of Haguenau and choir. Directed by Raymond Keith with Marketa Lastovickova, bandoneon, and Pavla Tesarova as well as the choir Éphémère directed by Agnès Krempp and Oksana Krupenya on piano.
