The second edition of the CinéRire festival delighted the audience with a diverse program focused on humor.

On Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, the town hall was filled with laughter during the second CinéRire festival, organized by Médialettres and Cinémaginaire. This event met the organizers’ expectations. Throughout these two days, laughter was explored in various ways: as a social and psychological phenomenon, a means of releasing tension, questioning conventions and norms, and as a joyful and stimulating dimension. The films shown provided each viewer with a unique opportunity to rediscover their own “madeleine de Proust”.

A varied program for all tastes

The organizers had a wide selection of comedies to choose from. The lineup covered a range of genres: heritage comedy with Laurel and Hardy, historical costume comedy with La folie des grandeurs, societal comedy with Les profs, family comedy with Chers parents or Les garçons et Guillaume, à table, as well as more unconventional but equally funny works such as Alter ego or Le clan.

The second daily edition of the festival was a real success, with over 200 entries recorded during this eventful weekend. The audience responded well and fully enjoyed the event.

An authentic neighborhood cinema atmosphere

For the occasion, the hall was carefully decorated: posters, ticket booth, bar, and snacks echoed the latest screening and set the tone for the celebration. Inside the theater, the comfort of the seats surpassed that of the weekly screenings, enhancing the feeling of rediscovering the good old neighborhood cinema.

Two films, Chers parents and Alter ego, both released in March 2026, particularly impressed the audience. The other films, although older and seen several times before, were warmly appreciated for their quality and timeless humor.

The president of Médialettres, Cathy Rèbuget, extended her thanks to all the festival partners, especially Cinémaginaire, as well as the volunteers who worked to ensure the success of this second edition, not forgetting the municipal services. She dedicated the 2026 edition to Guy Schmidt, a dearly missed member of the association, a passionate cinephile, and a loyal collaborator. In conclusion, she invited the public to the next edition in 2027.

Through the quality and diversity of their programming, Médialettres and Cinemaginaire demonstrate their ability to satisfy a large audience and recreate the warm atmosphere of neighborhood cinema.

Next screening: Wednesday, April 8, 8:30 p.m., town hall. “Ceux qui comptent,” a dramatic comedy directed by Jean-Baptiste Léonetti, released in 2026, starring Sandrine Kiberlain and Pierre Lottion.
