The Strasbourg company Sounduct will celebrate its fifth anniversary this year. They will also celebrate the commercial launch of their Ossiclear hearing device in the North American market. “We hope to do so this summer,” said Olivier Gauthier, the company’s president, who received the Social and Societal Innovation trophy. Last November, he had already received the Inpi-France 2030 national trophy.
A local production Completely “disruptive,” this device will operate through “bone conduction.” In simple terms: it will capture surrounding sound and mechanically convert it into vibratory energy diffused against the skull by an electromagnet. It will meet the needs of people who cannot use traditional devices, including those with “total deafness,” explains Olivier Gauthier.
Production will take place in Eurometropole. The models distributed in North America will also follow this rule. A funding round of 3 million euros was completed last year in anticipation of setting up a pilot production line.
The arrival of Ossiclear in French and European markets is expected next year.
