On Sunday, March 29, a march is being organized in Nîmes (Gard) in memory of Olivia and to support research against pediatric cancers. Today, ICI Gard Lozère receives Larissa Gaillard, founder of the association and Olivia’s mother.

“The steps of Olivia” is the name of the solidarity march organized this Sunday in Nîmes to support research against pediatric cancers. The project is led by Larissa and Aurélien, Olivia’s parents, following her diagnosis of a rare and aggressive cancer, Gliome Infiltrant du Tronc Cérébral (GITC), at the age of nine.

After Olivia’s diagnosis, Larissa and Aurélien Gaillard spent their nights searching for a solution. They felt alone and struggled to maintain a sense of normalcy for their daughters. Olivia passed away seven months after her diagnosis, leaving behind a devastated family.

Two years later, Larissa and Aurélien Gaillard founded an association to support parents facing similar situations and fund research for pediatric cancers. The march organized in Nîmes aims to raise funds for research and provide support to families affected by these rare diseases.

The march will start at 10 am on Sunday, March 29, 2026, following a route through the Jardins de la Fontaine, cours Jean Jaurès, Arènes, and Maison Carrée in Nîmes. The event is open to everyone, with no registration required, and donations are optional.

Additionally, the operation at the store “Le lutin vert” in Nîmes will continue throughout April, with one euro donated for every purchase of a rabbit plush toy to support pediatric cancer research.
