Kazakhstan and Germany agreed to establish a Regional Center for Sustainable Agriculture for Central Asia and Germany at the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Plant Growing. This decision came after discussions at the 18th Global Forum for Food and Agriculture in Berlin.

The initiative aims to enhance agricultural productivity in the region by considering local climate conditions and the challenges of climate change. It will focus on knowledge transfer, technology advancement, professional training, and sustainable farming practices. The center’s activities will be coordinated by the National Agrarian Scientific and Educational Center in the Almaty Region.

During the event, Kazakhstan showcased the products of 20 Kazakh companies at the Green Week exhibition. This platform highlighted Kazakhstan’s agricultural exports, potential in food processing, organic farming, and modern agrotechnologies. It also facilitated the establishment of new business contacts and partnerships with international stakeholders.

Discussions at the forum covered topics like promoting sustainable growth through agricultural development and water management, investment in the agri-food sector, digitalization, and the use of artificial intelligence in agriculture. Participants identified opportunities for cooperation in organic agriculture, agricultural science, digital farming, and AI solutions. Kazakhstan expressed interest in attracting German investment for agricultural processing and sustainable farming practices.
