On Saturday, April 11th, 2026, at 5:00 PM, association leaders are organizing a Landes race for charity in the arenas of Castel-Sarrazin. “In the arena, the team of hunters with hunters like Romain Beyris, Mathieu Minvielle, and other friends will don the boléro to support our cause,” adds Romain Truchat.
To echo the men in boléro, it will be up to the neighboring ganadero from the Amollois region, Laurent Deyris, to bring some of his bulls for this spectacle. “For this race with charitable and supportive objectives, both the actors and the ganadero contribute voluntarily; this testimony strengthens our defense and shows the unity of the rural world in preserving traditions, whether in Landes races or in hunting,” completes the secretary.
A scientific cause
The funds raised on Saturday, April 11th will finance the purchase of GPS tags. “We want to contribute to the scientific monitoring of the migration of wood pigeons, and for this, after capturing wood pigeons with nets, we equip the birds with tags to observe their behavior and understand their migration.”
In addition to the course’s lineup, the Raseteurs from the Southwest will also take to the arena for a demonstration of their bullfighting art. The organization of this particular Landes race, combined with the defense of hunting, represents an important issue for the promotion of a noble cause and the preservation of wood pigeon hunting.
