The 34 departmental advisers unanimously approved the 2026 Department budget, setting aside party affiliations and electoral calculations. This decision was a way to commend the collective action of the department, which continues to excel in terms of investment, amounting to €86 million.

After the tense municipal election phase, finding a bit of political serenity feels good, and the Department is often the place to achieve this. Under the leadership of Michel Pélieu, the general interest prevails. Pélieu acknowledged the new mayors and re-elected mayors, highlighting the importance of the Department as a reliable partner for rural mayors. This led to a proposal to increase aid to municipalities by €1 million, reaching a total of €21 million.

The overall budget of the Department amounts to €442 million, with significant portions allocated to social assistance programs, roads, transportation, agriculture, education, emergency services, culture, sports, and investment.

The unanimous vote on the budget was well-received, with advisers praising the sensible allocation of funds and the balance between investment and solidarity measures. The positive comments from advisers reflect a shared understanding of the budget’s importance in supporting economic vitality and social challenges in the region.

In conclusion, the approval of the budget demonstrated a collective commitment to serving the community and fostering development, despite the challenges posed by the economic landscape. The unanimous support for the budget signifies a collaborative effort to address the needs of the region and support its residents.
