Asia is the center of multiple economic, political, and security issues. The Asia Center at Ifri aims to shed light on these realities and assist decision-making through in-depth research and the development of a platform for ongoing dialogue on these issues.
The Asia Center’s research is structured around two main axes: the relations of major Asian powers with the rest of the world and the internal dynamics of Asian economies and societies. The Center’s activities focus on China, Japan, India, Taiwan, and the Indo-Pacific, but also cover Southeast Asia, the Korean Peninsula, and Oceania.
The Asia Center maintains ongoing institutional relationships with similar research institutes in Europe and Asia, and its researchers regularly conduct fieldwork in the region.
It organizes closed roundtable discussions, expert seminars, and various public events in Paris, including its annual conference, with the participation of experts from Asia, Europe, or the United States. The work of the Center’s researchers and their foreign partners is published in the electronic collection Asie.Visions.
