The agenda for the installation of the Municipal Social Action Center (CCAS) closely follows that of the new Municipal Council. The new mandate involves reorganizing it, including adding members from civil society to its leadership. Applications are now open. With the elections and the Council already installed, another municipal body that needs to be reconstituted is the CCAS. Although closely linked to municipal services, it has a separate budget. It is led by a President, the Mayor, 7 council members, and an equal number of external members. These external members must be citizens involved in associations participating in social activities, prevention, and social development in the municipal area. Applications are currently open until April 7th. Lists of at least 3 candidates must be sent to the Town Hall by registered mail or dropped off at the Town Hall reception.

Once all applications are received, the Mayor will officially appoint the members of the Board of Directors. They will meet every quarter to oversee numerous operations related to the city’s social policy. This can include combating isolation, providing assistance to people with disabilities, integration programs, and combating exclusion. The Seniors’ Guide, published last year, provides a comprehensive overview of the actions carried out by the CCAS of L’Union.
