On this Sunday, March 22nd, the 19,201 registered voters in Lunel are casting their votes to elect their mayor. The candidates include Paulette Gougeon, Anthony Belin, and Stéphane Dalle.

It’s the big day. The three candidates who garnered more than 10% of the votes in the first round are vying to remain mayor or become one.

These three candidates are Paulette Gougeon (My party is Lunel), the incumbent mayor who topped the first round with 28.07% of the votes, Anthony Belin (Lunel is you!), who received 21.37% of the votes, and Stéphane Dalle (Lunel at heart) with 19.02% of the votes.

The 16 polling stations, which can be found here, are open from 8 am to 6 pm.

More than 50% turnout at 5 pm

An hour before the polling stations close, the turnout rate reaches 51.34%, a slight increase compared to the first round on Sunday, March 15th, which was 50.47%.

In Hérault, the turnout rate stands at 54.93%.

Update at 4 pm per polling station

Two hours before closing time, the turnout rate is 47.84%, one point higher than the previous week.

The lowest turnout rate is 36.49% at polling station number 11, and the highest is 54.66% at Roustan School (station number 11). Four other polling stations exceed 50%: Louise-Michel School, Folquet Hall, Ados Club, and Camille-Claudel School. The remaining ten stations have turnout rates between 43.5% and 49%.

Polling station number 5 relocated

This year, polling station number 5 is not located in Georges-Brassens Hall. To get there, you must go to the Trophy Room in front of the arenas.

After casting their votes, the three candidates sent a message encouraging the people of Lunel to mobilize on this election day.

Almost 30% turnout at noon

At noon, the turnout rate reaches 29.89%, as announced by the City. For comparison, it is 25.06% in the department of Hérault.

In Lunel, there is a two-point increase compared to the first round on Sunday, March 15th, where it was 27.87%, and a four-point increase compared to the 2020 runoff (25.12%).

Candidates voted in the morning

The voting process for the candidates started with Anthony Belin at 9:30 am at Pont de Vesse School, followed by Stéphane Dalle at Jacques-Brel School at 10:10 am with his family. Finally, Paulette Gougeon went to Arc-en-ciel School at 11 am with her family.
