Face-to-face with the candidates of the right and center, Florence Portelli’s project
“Getting out of petty debates to finally talk about substance”: this is the project of Florence Portelli, re-elected Les Républicains (LR) mayor after the first round in Taverny (Val-d’Oise), who carefully observes the blossoming of the officially announced candidates of the right and center for 2027. She hopes to bring them together in her city in June, for an exchange inspired by the Medef format. On the agenda: ecology, education and culture, independence, justice and social justice. According to the mayor, Xavier Bertrand, David Lisnard, and Édouard Philippe have already given their preliminary agreement.
From Gabriel Attal to Dominique de Villepin, passing by Bruno Retailleau, the invitation is open to those who are considering declaring themselves and wish to participate “not in a confrontation, but in a presentation of ideas”. “Before we dive into polling and instead of getting bogged down in endless discussions about primaries or no primaries, says Florence Portelli, I would like to give my country a chance to hear real projects and, ultimately, to avoid the deadly duel of RN-LFI in the second round.”
