The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday that it thwarted a plot targeting national security and funding terrorist organizations. 24 citizens were arrested by the State Security Service.

According to a statement from the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), one individual had their citizenship revoked, and the suspects were found with funds linked to illegal activities.

The authorities identified eight citizens abroad, one of whom had their citizenship revoked, part of an organized network collecting and holding funds under religious pretexts for transfer based on instructions from outside the country.

Funds collected from donors who believed the money was for charitable causes were diverted to unlawful entities. The suspects used commercial entities to move and distribute the funds, transporting them by land and air to avoid detection.

Legal action has been taken against those arrested, who have been handed over to the relevant authorities. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend all individuals involved in the network.
