A popular brand of rice sold in stores across the country has been recalled over possible “foreign material.”

A recall of two-pound bags of Lundberg Organic Jasmine White Rice was recalled by Wegmans on April 4 due to a foreign contaminant, but the specific material was not disclosed.

Wegmans is offering a full refund for the allegedly tainted rice.

Lundberg Family Farms, the manufacturer of the rice, confirmed to USA Today that they voluntarily issued the nationwide recall as a precautionary measure.

The rice is under a class II recall, defined by the Food and Drug Administration as a situation that could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health effects if exposed to the contaminated substance.

No illnesses have been reported from exposure to the rice, and the recall is limited to a single production run of 4,500 cases of the product, according to Lundberg Family Farms.

The affected rice is also sold at national retailers like Whole Foods, Walmart, and Target.

Bags included in the recall have the universal product code 073416-040281 and best by dates of Feb. 1, 2027 with lot code 260201, and Feb. 2, 2027 with lot code 260202.

Additionally, the FDA recalled several bread products from supermarket shelves, including Trader Joe’s brand Focaccia Bread, due to metal fragments found in the bread pieces.
