One person has been rescued and another has died following a grain bin incident in Bridgeville, Delaware. The incident occurred at Evans Farm on Redden Road on April 10 at about 4:50 p.m. Delaware State Police, the Bridgeville Fire Company, police, and several mutual aid fire companies responded to reports of two men trapped in a grain tank.

After more than two hours, it was confirmed that two people were still trapped inside the grain bin. First responders made contact with them and worked to remove the contents of the bin. A 20-year-old man from Bridgeville was rescued and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Tragically, the other victim, a 66-year-old man from Bridgeville, was found deceased after the first victim was rescued. The men had entered the grain tank to loosen an auger but became trapped when corn from a higher level slid onto them. The identity of the deceased victim has not been released.
