An Indian professional working in Poland has drawn attention to the range of benefits offered in corporate roles in the country, highlighting aspects beyond salary such as flexible working hours, paid leave and employee welfare policies.
The insights were shared by Anirudh Sharma in a video posted on Instagram, where he outlined his experience working in the banking sector.
Sharma stated that his work schedule typically runs from 8 am to 4 pm, allowing him significant personal time. He added that employees often have the option to work from home for two to three days a week, which contributes to maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
He further stated that working on public holidays is generally compensated at double the standard pay, while overtime is paid at 1.5 times the base salary.
Highlighting employee welfare policies, Sharma stated that sick leave is commonly paid at around 80 per cent of salary, with some organisations offering full pay during such periods. He added that companies actively promote wellbeing through initiatives such as trekking trips, team outings and wellness programmes.
According to Sharma, additional benefits may include access to a multisport card covering gym, swimming and other fitness activities, while some workplaces also provide meals such as breakfast. He stated that employees are typically entitled to between 20 and 26 days of paid annual leave depending on experience, with certain organisations mandating at least two weeks of continuous leave.
He also noted that employees may receive two to three additional optional days for social activities or personal projects, while some offices provide a half-day off ahead of public holidays.
On family-related benefits, Sharma stated that parental leave can extend up to 52 weeks, supported jointly by employers and the government. He added that work culture tends to be more relaxed during the summer months.
He further stated that taking leave often requires informing a manager rather than seeking formal approval, reflecting a more flexible workplace approach.
