The war between the U.S. and Iran has been ongoing for 37 days, despite President Donald Trump’s claim that Iran has been “completely decimated.” More than 1,900 people have been killed in Iran, with additional casualties in the region as the conflict continues to grow.

Tensions escalated over the weekend when Trump issued a 48-hour ultimatum for Iran to either “make a deal” or reopen the critical global oil route, the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian officials warned of catastrophic regional consequences if there were further attacks, particularly on nuclear sites, heightening concerns of a broader crisis.

On Sunday, Trump issued new threats against Iran through a profanity-laced post on Truth Social, demanding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz by Tuesday or face severe consequences. Meanwhile, a U.S. service member who had been missing since Iran shot down a fighter jet on Friday was rescued, with Trump confirming the aviator’s safety despite injuries.

The rescue effort involved numerous aircraft and continuous monitoring of the aviator’s location, with a second crew member also rescued on the same day the aircraft went down. This information includes updates from President Donald Trump, The Associated Press, and previous FOX Local reporting.
