President Trump is anticipated to make an important address to the nation regarding the Iran war at 9 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday night. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the address will include “an important update.” Meanwhile, Israel has faced criticism from Europe for extending its invasion in southern Lebanon.

In the ongoing conflict, an Israeli airstrike in Beirut’s Mediterranean coast resulted in the deaths of at least seven individuals according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry. Videos shared on social media portrayed flames erupting from a residential area in Jnah, near Beirut’s airport, after a series of strikes on the outskirts of the capital.

Lebanon remains a significant battlefield in the broader Middle East conflict, with fighting expected to continue even if the U.S. ceases its bombing in Iran. Israel has targeted the Iranian-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, leading to a surge in violence.

The international community, including 10 European countries and the EU’s foreign policy chief, called for de-escalation in the region, condemning Hezbollah’s actions and demanding political negotiations between Lebanon and Israel. They also urged Israel to halt its ground invasion to preserve Lebanon’s territorial integrity.

As the conflict unfolds, the World Food Programme highlighted the logistical challenges faced in transporting food aid amid heightened security concerns, impacting global supply chains and potentially leading to increased hunger worldwide.

Additionally, Iran has threatened to strike U.S. corporations, specifically major technology companies it accuses of aiding the U.S. and Israel in the war. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard identified 18 U.S. firms as potential targets, including Nvidia, Boeing, and others with operations in the Gulf region.

Amidst escalating tensions, Pakistan and China released a joint statement urging peace talks and diplomatic measures to resolve the conflict. Pakistan has been actively engaged in mediating between the U.S. and Iran, with conflicting reports on the progress of negotiations.
