The Celtic culture makes its return to Athis-Mons (Essonne) from February 19 to 22, 2026 at Espace René L’Helguen for the second edition of the Terre des Celtes festival. Over four days, the city becomes the meeting point for music from Ireland, Brittany, and beyond.

“Offering everyone an enchanted break”

“We created this Celtic festival to offer everyone an enchanted break, a moment of celebration, joy, and connection,” emphasized Muriel Guézengarn, coordinator of the Celtic Circle Dalc’h Mat.

With a rich history around the Breton community in Athis-Mons and Savigny-sur-Orge, the association created in 1957 has always cherished dancing together and passing on a living heritage.

With 45 members, it is an essential part of the local association landscape in Athis-Mons and also has a national presence.

It actively contributes to the development of Breton culture through music, organizing over 10 significant events each year (Fest-Noz, festivals, etc.) including Terre des Celtes.

A musical journey to kick off the festivities

To start the celebrations of this second edition, the group Ivarh will kick things off this Thursday at 8 pm in partnership with Les Bords de Scènes, at Espace René L’Helguen transformed into an authentic pub for the occasion, complete with a bar and food.

Ivarh’s concert takes the audience on a true musical adventure, blending Breton heritage with world sounds. With a twelve-string guitar, electro textures, chants from Basse Bretagne, and instruments from various places, the quintet explores unexpected paths where traditions, African, Balkan, or Oriental influences naturally intertwine. Orchestra and electro-folk on Friday

The next day, at 8 pm, the orchestra Guitar’Essonne will perform a part of their eclectic repertoire ranging from Ravel to Latin music, contemporary creations, and film scores.

This will be followed by the irresistible electro-folk of the Green Lads, taking the audience on a journey where the energy of Irish music meets electro vibes.

Led by two violinists, a flutist, a guitarist, and a tap dancer, the group creates a modern and irresistibly danceable mural.

Highlight: Carlos Núñez concert on Saturday

On Saturday, the Bagad Keriz orchestra will kick off the evening with their percussions, bringing an authentic Breton flair, before the much-anticipated arrival of Carlos Núñez, who captivated the audience at the first edition.

The Galician virtuoso, master of the gaita and flutes, is recognized as one of the brightest musicians on the global Celtic scene.

Returning to Athis-Mons with a new program promising to once again captivate the audience.

Breton dance initiations followed by a Fest-Deiz to conclude

On Sunday, the Terre des Celtes festival shifts gears with a day dedicated to dances and the ambiance of Breton balls.

Starting at 1 pm, the public is invited to learn the steps of Breton dances with the Cercle celtique Dalc’h Mat.

An opportunity to learn the basics of traditional dances in a friendly atmosphere guided by passionate dancers.

A great introduction before the Fest-Deiz in the afternoon where many Breton dance enthusiasts will gather around the groups Electrad, Caliorne, le Cri des Mouettes, and musicians from the Bagad Dalc’h Mat starting at 2 pm.
