It seems that the boundary between fashion, cinema, and television has never been as blurred as at the Balenciaga autumn-winter 2026-2027 fashion show. Even before the first guests took their seats, the decor itself was speaking to streaming fans: exclusive images from the upcoming season of “Euphoria” were being displayed on screens at the set. After four years off the air, the American series created by Sam Levinson for HBO will make its return on April 12th, specifically. However, the few personalities and fashion professionals present that night had the rare privilege of viewing these exclusive previews, interspersed with images of sunsets filmed by the showrunner himself.
For Pierpaolo Piccioli, the series becomes a true cultural tool in service of fashion, adding to a larger pop culture constellation. This strategy aligns with his approach of expanding haute couture beyond just the runway. The Italian designer is no stranger to fiction, as he even made an appearance in the third season of “The Morning Show.” This Parisian evening is another example of his desire to integrate fashion into a direct dialogue with contemporary culture and its most well-known figures.
When “Heated Rivalry” meets “I Love LA” at Balenciaga
Once the decor was admired, the attention turned to the audience. And not just any audience. In the front row of the fashion show, a lineup of celebrities immediately caught the eye: Winona Ryder, Elizabeth Debicki, and Harris Dickinson. Big screen stars strutted down the runway, highlighting the growing connection between the luxury industry and entertainment. But it was another group of guests that particularly drew the photographers’ lenses: the emerging faces of television. Among them, Hudson Williams, a sought-after figure since the success of “Heated Rivalry.” Adapted from Rachel Reid’s literary saga “Game Changers,” this Canadian production garnered attention by depicting the passionate relationship between two ice hockey prospects. In a sports world still marked by conservativism and homophobia, the two athletes clandestinely fostered a romance as intense as it was sensitive. While his co-star Connor Storrie aligned with Saint Laurent, Williams became the ambassador for Balenciaga. His presence at this Paris Fashion Week was highly anticipated.
However, the surprise intensified when the actor found himself surrounded by the cast of the comedy “I Love LA.” Created by Rachel Sennott, who also plays the lead role, the series established itself in 2025 as a rightful successor to “Sex and the City.” The story follows a group of friends in Los Angeles, navigating the behind-the-scenes of a fascinating yet corrosive entertainment industry. A brilliant satire of industry pitfalls, from ambition to pride, to lust, it once again carries the HBO signature. Alongside Sennott, actors Jordan Firstman and Josh Hutcherson were also present at Balenciaga. The result: an unexpected crossover between two different television worlds, brought together under the fashion spotlight for one evening.
