From March 1st to 8th: “Ça presse”, the press drawing festival

The “Ça presse” festival, dedicated to press drawing, is back for its 5th edition in Lyon. 250 drawings will be exhibited at the city hall, where debates, meetings, and round tables will also be organized for free, but with reservation required.

Topics such as independent media, press freedom, fake news, satire, and more will be discussed. For those in a more playful mood looking to have some fun (or get scared, who knows), a quiz called “Figaro or Gorafi” is scheduled for Saturday, March 7th at 2:30 PM at the festival bar.

Additionally, Radio Nova’s show “La Dernière” will be recorded live at Transbordeur in Lyon on the first day of the festival, featuring Guillaume Meurice, Juliette Arnaud, Pierre-Emmanuel Barré, Aymeric Lompret, and our journalist Marie Allenou as a guest!

The first on March 6th will focus on sustainable food at the Maison engagée et sociale de l’alimentation (Lyon 8) from 5:30 PM. Click to register if you’d like to attend.

Then, just 5 days before the first round, a debate on housing will be co-organized with Mediacités on March 10th. The main candidates will discuss this crucial election topic at Odéon theater starting at 7 PM. It’s free but registration is required.

From March 11th to 31st, screenings will be held in several cinemas in the region followed by discussions with subject matter experts. The program includes the documentary “Orwell 2+2=5” by Raou Peck at Cinéma Gérard Philipe in Vénissieux on March 24th; “Soudan, souviens-toi” on March 17th and 27th; and “Tout va bien” by Thomas Ellis, telling the story of five teenagers who crossed deserts and seas alone.

A collection of 130 texts that “overturn the patriarchal order,” from medieval pioneers to more contemporary struggles around intersectionality and LGBTQ+ movements.
